There are sections about spices and specific ingredients, techniques and the history of favorite dishes. But for Anita Jaisinghani, whose titles have included microbiologist, entrepreneur, chef, and restaurateur, food is about so much more than what is on the surface. You’ll also find an introduction to the world of Ayurveda, and the ways that food can help bring about wellness in many facets of our lives and health. This is a great book for discovering Indian cooking, especially if your experience of it has been mostly of the takeout variety.
