This is a joyful, approachable book filled with lots of family stories and motherly wisdom from Kim’s mother, who he lived with during the writing of this book. The photographs are beautifully inviting and filled with eclectic china and delicious food. But though the tone is laid-back, this is a serious book and the recipes, while not overly complicated, are precise. It’s a love letter to cooking at home and away, and to the way food forms family culture.
