Winter Rose Hip Tea

Winter Rose Hip Tea

Ingredients

1 Cup fresh rose hips
6 Cups water
2 Sticks of cinnamon
2 Pods of star anise, whole
2 Tbs dried orange peel
Local honey, to taste

Instructions

Rinse rose hips before placing them in a medium-sized pot. If rose hips are hard, you can cut them in half. Add water and bring to a boil on the stove.

Cover and reduce heat.

Simmer rose hips for another 20 minutes.

Remove from heat. Add cinnamon, star anise and orange peel to the rose hips, allowing the mixture to steep for an additional 5-10 minutes.

Strain the tea and serve with honey to add a little sweetness.
