Lovage Simple Syrup

Add this simple syrup to all of your favorite garden-variety drinks this summer to brighten up everything from a standard Collins to a Champagne cocktail.

1 Cup Water
1 Cup Sugar
½ Cup Lovage Leaves and Stems, rinsed

Combine water and sugar in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, stirring until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and add lovage leaves. Allow syrup to cool and infuse, 2-3 hours, before straining into a storage container. Simple syrup will last up to one month if stored, sealed, in the refrigerator.

Lovage Lemonade

1 Part Lovage Simple Syrup
1 Part Freshly Squeezed Lemon Juice
2 Parts Water

Combine all ingredients in a jar or pitcher. Stir well, adding additional water and simple syrup to taste. Serve over ice and enjoy with a lovage straw!
